Hiring a Wedding Planner does not have to be a “Yes” or “No” question. The happy medium between hiring a full-service wedding planner and doing everything all on your own, is a Day-Of Coordinator.

What is a Day Of Wedding Coordinator?

We coordinate everything about your wedding day, from the arrival of your band and setting up your décor, to cuing the Best-Man speech and packing everything up at the end of the night. Your Day Of Coordinator will handle it all.

So do you just show up on the day of?

This is a trick question. Hate to break it to ya, but there is no such thing as a “Day-Of-Coordinator.”

And here’s why:

If you’re hiring a ‘day of coordinator’ to just show up on your wedding day, they will not magically know what needs to go where, who is who, what your expectations are, what the timeline is (speaking of which, who makes the timeline beforehand if they’re just showing up on the day?) There’s really no way this would feasibly happen.

For a wedding coordinator to do their job well, they need to come on board to the planning process well before the event to get caught up to speed on everything that’s been done, as well as make a plan for the wedding, and assign all key players involved. What is commonly misunderstood is that a Day Of Coordinator only shows up on the “Day-Of” the wedding, when in reality, a Day Of Coordinator’s job starts anywhere from 1 – 3 months prior to the big day.

What is the difference between a full service wedding planner and a Day Of Coordinator?

Full service wedding planners often specialize in longer-term projects, like managing your budget, selecting your venue and attending vendor meetings. Day of Wedding Coordination allows you the freedom to have your hand in the creative wedding process, while letting us execute your details on the actual day. You have a vision and want to make the wedding your own, but need a professional in the industry to help guide you through the process without the full-service price tag.

My venue already comes with a coordinator, do I need a Day Of Coordinator as well?

A venue coordinator is NOT the same as a month of, or ‘day of’ coordinator. This does not mean a venue coordinator does not have wedding skills or is not necessary. It’s actually quite the opposite. Both are essential to making sure your day is perfect!

A venue coordinator is responsible for your venue. Your wedding coordinator is responsible for YOU and your wedding. Together, they work together to serve you best.

A Venue Coordinator makes sure the location that is housing your event is functioning to serve your wedding. Lighting, heat, parking, kitchen for the caterers, bridal suites; all these things are under their care throughout your wedding day.

A Wedding Coordinator takes care of YOUR details. Your timeline, decorations, music cues, vendor management; all THESE things are under their care throughout your wedding day. Together, their team work makes your wedding dream work!

What kind of couple should be looking for a Day Of Coordinator?

I strongly advise that every couple that is planning their own wedding hire a Day Of Coordinator. Organizing everything for your wedding without a coordinator is hard enough. Hire someone to guide you through the process and to take over the scheduling on the day of so that you don’t have to. (Hi! Hello! That’s US!)
